TESTIMONIALS

Extremely relaxed and comfortable cryoablation experience...

Dr. Bednarksi and her team provide an extremely relaxed and comfortable cryoablation experience, from preparation to the procedure itself to the aftercare. Dr. Bednarski made sure I understood what was happening at each step of the procedure, that I was comfortable, and that I was well cared for. Her approach is to treat each patient as though she was a family member and that has been evident at every step of the process. If anyone is considering cryoablation, I would highly recommend Dr. Bednarski and her team!

She [Dr. B.] seems to be the missing piece in my healing journey

I am glad that I found Dr. B. She seems to be the missing piece in my healing journey. She is kind, genuine, passionate about helping others, and seems to be unmatched. I was nervous about having the procedure but am glad that I did. I highly recommend Dr. Bednarski and trust that I am in good hands.

I truly believe that she loves us like her own family...

If you are considering cryoablation, look no further. Dr. Bednarski is simply the best. I feel so blessed that I have her in my corner helping me through a really difficult season in my life. Because she is direct primary care, she has the freedom to be a true doctor and spend as much time as needed with her patients. Her office is beautiful as well. I can tell that she is highly knowledgeable, open minded, forward thinking, and takes lots of time to stay current with the latest research and methods in her field. When I first inquired over email about cryoablation, I received a call from her personally the same day! When does that ever happen in today's medical climate?!

I will never forget, "Good evening, Mrs. Konieczny. This is Dr. Bednarski," with a perfect Polish pronunciation of my last name :). She is so compassionate, takes time to listen (and sometimes even learn!) from her patients. I truly believe that she loves us like her own family and cares about what happens to us in the long run. She has always been quick to response to any questions that I have and always makes sure that I am at ease with any procedure that may initially cause me to have any pause about it. She is quick to order any tests or lab work that she agrees with you on. I could go and on. I can't say enough good about her, and I literally cannot think of one thing even remotely negative or even neutral to say. Thank you, Dr. B! You are the best!

I feel so blessed to have her on my team

I highly recommend Dr. Bednarski. She and I have spent a lot of time together this past year from biopsies to cryoablation to a breast reduction and I can say confidently that she is an excellent surgeon and a kind, caring person. She takes time to really understand what is going on, truly listens and always has a measured, well-informed response. You can tell she cares deeply about her patients.

I feel so blessed to have her on my team, walking me through what would otherwise be a very scary experience if it weren’t for her calm, reassuring demeanor and excellent care. Even her office is pleasant and calming. I can’t thank her enough for choosing to practice medicine the way she does. She sets the standard high and many other doctors could learn from her. I was able to get my bills reimbursed from our healthcare ministry, but I would be willing to pay out of pocket to be her patient…she is worth every penny. Love you, Dr. B!

She is the real deal!

Dr Bednarski is the rarest of rare doctors. Above all else, she truly cares and wants her patients healthy and whole. She is up-to-date on treatments, pharmaceuticals, therapies, holistic treatments, etc. She is the real deal! Her appointments are two-way conversations and she listens intently to understand where you're coming from with anxieties, desires, etc. She doubles as a counselor and takes the time to work through any questions and concerns you have about the procedure to help make informed decisions - never forcing anything on you - only recommending. I had a breast cryoablation procedure performed by her on August 2023.

We had multiple conversations before I flew from Oregon to Myrtle Beach and she was incredibly kind, patient, empathetic and extremely knowledgeable. She never made me feel like I was too much - always talked to me like she had all day to answer what I needed answered. That's a rare find. The procedure, itself, was done incredibly professionally and she was so thorough. She walked me through every detail of what she was going to do and what she was doing. I'm the most anxious human on the planet and I knew I was in the best hands. Her expertise led to a successful procedure. This means she was able to freeze all cancerous tumors and lymph nodes with huge margins. Two months after the procedure and my scans show all visible cancer is gone. Another amazing thing she does is walk through your imaging with you.

No other doctor does that; they usually just go over the radiologist's findings. She walks through each image to show you what's going on. She is a miracle worker and I'm grateful to have found her! I adore her and know if I ever need her for help with any aspect of this cancer journey, she has my back. I would recommend her to anyone and am grateful for her saving my life ♥

Dr. Bednarski is a true God Send...

I initially had two incomplete surgical excisions of my breast mass. I did not elect to have chemo or radiation. I went full force extreme healthy diet of most raw vegetables and fruits, no processed foods and natural supplements and RGCC. The mass enlarged and I then found Dr. Bednarski via my chiropractic Gerson practitioner. Dr. Bednarski is a true God Send. I wish she could be regular physician. She is an excellent communicator, she truly listens and accommodates your concerns.

The procedure was straight forward and effective. I immediately felt relaxed and confident after the initial consult with Dr. Bednarski. That feeling of peace and being totally cared for and taken care of has continued throughout each appointment and procedure and follow up. That peace and tremendous reduction of stress is absolutely invaluable. I am tremendously grateful to have found Dr. Bednarski, she is absolutely a God send. Had I known of her from the beginning I would not have elected the surgery in the first place and would have directly gone to Dr. Bednarski.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Dr. Bednarski!

She saved me a ton of trauma and gave me hope...

I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer at 33 years old. One week after learning that I was newly pregnant with my first baby. To say I was devastated and utterly shocked at the set of sudden circumstances would be an understatement. I felt like I had a freight train coming at me with little time to make choices. And, sadly all my choices seemed to rip up so many dreams for me. I didn’t know what I wanted but I knew I wanted to protect my baby and to preserve my breast as much as possible. Chemo and a new life inside me seemed like such a contradiction and not a choice for me.

My husband found out about The Ice Cure and we were extremely blessed to find Dr. Bednarski in those first few confusing weeks. She took me on when no one wanted to touch me because of my new pregnancy and age. I was quickly scheduled for my procedure and so relieved to find an alternative option that would allow me to get through my pregnancy safely without chemo and without cutting off my breast. I truly couldn’t imagine going through pregnancy and becoming a mom like that. She saved me a ton of trauma and gave me hope when I was offered none. She put the choices back in my hands for treatment options when I felt like all control had been ripped from me.

I am now at the end of my pregnancy journey with a very healthy baby boy soon to be born - and my biopsy results came back all clear - as well as my circulating tumor blood test results showing nothing in my system. Thanks to Serenity Surgery I am now able to move forward and even breastfeed my baby on the affected breast. I’m incredibly thankful and humbled by this wonderful procedure done here. They gave me so much back and saved me from so many dark times. I am forever grateful and hope to continue to be cancer free thanks to the option they gave me for treatment.

She truly cares about her patients...

I had my cryoablation procedure with Dr Bednarski yesterday and everything about the experience brought comfort. She truly cares about her patients and it shows in all aspects of her care. I highly recommend her to anyone facing a treatment decision.

I could not be happier...

I have been looking for a medical professional to assist me with Cryoablation surgery as I did not want to go the traditional route of surgery. Dr. Bednarski is the ONLY person that actually followed up with me, explained all the details of Cryoablation in clear language, and gave me assurance in my decision. On the day of surgery I was very nervous but my worries were quickly put to rest by Dr. Bednarski and her team. My experience was definitely a positive one I could not be happier in my decision to work with this wonderful doctor and the support staff behind her.

I feel very fortunate to be under her care

In July 2022 I was diagnosed with beginning stage right side breast cancer. After the initial shock and a whirlwind of appointments, I was at the cross road of deciding surgery options. I was researching for surgery options that are less invasive and contacted Columbia University Medical Center who led me to Dr. Bednarski. In the initial consultation, Dr. Bednarski was very knowledgeable, professional, and empathetic. She did a through review of my imaging files and explained me in details of my diagnosis and how Cryoablation would apply to me.

After several meetings, I decided to move forward and got my procedure done in October 2022.The procedure had minimum pain and I didn't have to take any extra time for recovery. After surgery, Dr. Bednarski advised me to receive radiation treatment after 6 weeks. I completed the radiation in December 2022.

In June 2023, I had my six month follow-up imaging and another biopsy and received a clear report in the end! I'm thankful beyond words to Dr. Bednarski. Not only She is highly skilled, her genuine care and compassion for my wellbeing are evident through our interactions. She always took time listening to me and answered all my questions and concerns. She went above and beyond to provide her guidance and advice when I needed them. I feel very fortunate to be under her care in my healing journey!

I was warm and comfortable during the entire procedure.

When I discovered the amazing stories women were writing about Dr Bednarski I was riveted. Each and every testimony resonated with me and I knew I wanted to reach out and see if I too could be helped by her. Her office was amazing to work with and we scheduled a televisit appointment. Dr Bednarski talked with me for almost an hour, explaining in detail what our next steps were.

Before I knew it I was packed up and on my way to South Carolina. The Cryoablation was preformed and I was warm and comfortable during the entire procedure. Dr Bednarski answered all my questions and was so thorough throughout the entire procedure. She explains every move along the way. I knew I was in great hands and with a knowledgeable Doctor!

I am so happy I found this amazing woman. I would tell everyone to see her. It truly was an experience I’ll never forget. She and her staff are warm, friendly and caring people who treat you like a friend as soon as you enter the office

Six months later... no sign of cancer.

My diagnosis of breast cancer caught me off guard. I knew I couldn't let fear rule. My visits with several oncologists left me no doubt that chemo, radiation and surgery were not for me. My daughter and I started researching Holistic practices. We found an alternative procedure, cryoablation that freezes the cancer without surgery. Local doctors turned me down because of the size of the tumor. We widened our search for a doctor who would take my case, We found a cryoablation specialist, Dr. Hania Bednarski in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She sent us her recently published book, Freeze Breast Cancer. After reading her book and several telehealth visits, we scheduled the procedure. I told Dr. Bednarski I would like the procedure done before Thanksgiving so on that day I could really be thankful. She was able to schedule me the Monday before Thanksgiving.

Dr. Bednarski was caring and compassionate before, during and after the in-office procedure. Six months later, the biopsy and ultrasound showed no sign of cancer. If you or someone you love are facing a breast cancer diagnosis, arm yourself with knowledge. Read, Freeze Breast Cancer and schedule telehealth visits with Dr. Bednarski. She wants to answer all the questions you have. She wants you to feel empowered. She is on the journey with you. She truly loves each and every one of her patients.

The procedure itself was not painful at all...

I was diagnosed with IDC and didn’t believe lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy, chemo, radiation, and hormone therapy would be right for me.

Very fortunately I found Dr Bednarski and cryoablation treatment. When we had a televisit consult, I found her to be very honest, straightforward, warm, and compassionate. I felt completely confident in her experience and knew that this was the right surgeon and treatment for my breast cancer.

I considered the physical, mental and emotional aspects of standard proposed treatment and cryoablation meaning how I’d probably feel during treatment, after treatment (for how long and what types of side effects) not to mention the actual financial costs. I felt fortunate to be a good candidate for this treatment and didn’t hesitate in signing on to have the procedure done by Dr. B.

The procedure itself was not painful at all - there was a slight pinch for the anesthetic and some feeling of pressure at times, but nothing I’d describe as even mildly painful (and I’m a pain wimp). It took about an hour and went smoothly. I had traveled to Dr B from out of town so I went back to my hotel afterwards and didn’t experience any complications that night. Dr B checked the area the next morning and recapped care instructions. All was good to go and I felt really well, pretty much like I hadn’t had any medical procedure at all.

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr B and cryoablation treatment and came away from this experience with a feeling of immense gratitude. My wish is that all cancers could be treated comparably, meaning the least invasive, least amount of immediate and long term side effects, and affordable. That seems to be an impossible trifecta, but Dr B has proven to me it absolutely can be done.

Cryoablation is a blessing...

Dr. Bednarski and Amy were a great team. They were kind and compassionate. They gave me hope without trauma in my journey with healing breast cancer. Cryoablation is a blessing that Dr. Bednarski provides to help women who have breast cancer. She is passionate and qualified to provide first rate care in a pleasant and healing environment. My experience was positive and encouraging. Our country needs more doctors like Dr. Bednarski.

...my mom always felt confident and taken care of by Dr. B...

I write this review on behalf of my mother Maria. My mom was diagnosed with HER2+ Breast Cancer in February 2023. As scary of a diagnosis as this was for not only my mom but our whole family, my mom was sure about one thing; she was not personally interested in seeking out the “traditional” standard of treatment such as, chemotherapy and a mastectomy for her cancer journey.

Shortly after being diagnosed, my mom was referred to Dr Bednarski by her holistic practitioner who told us about an alternative to breast surgery, called “Cryoablation”. We did a little research and decided that this was a route she wanted to explore.

Upon meeting with Dr B. during her first virtual consultation, my mom felt a sense of comfort and care from Dr. B; she really spoke about the procedure with confidence and a lot of transparency of her expectations. Not only did she know what she was talking about, she even wrote a book about it, and she sent us a copy so we can be well informed in our decision. I say “we” because this has truly been a family affair.

We are from California and while there are many doctors and surgeons locally who are able and willing to perform this procedure for my mom, she (we) opted to travel to South Carolina to have this performed specifically by Dr. B because of the confidence that she inspired within my mom and the rest of us.

Not only did Dr. Bednarski, and her staff Amy, and Raul exceed our expectations of professionalism and care, most importantly my mom always felt confident and taken care of by Dr. B before, during and after the procedure. It has now been under 3 months since her procedure, and she is feeling good and very optimistic about her future. On behalf of Maria and the Ayala Family we would like to thank Dr B. for all her support, her passion for what she does and the genuine care that she has shown our mom and as a result, our entire family.

This procedure [Cryoablation] is virtually painless...

Who would ever guess that a breast cancer diagnosis could lead to such a quick and effective solution? That this procedure would be so pain free and complete at the same time is really a blessing. Words can't describe how wonderful it is to be fully heard and cared for so kindly.

I had a very serious long term episode with general anesthesia a number of years ago and another surgery is my worst fear. You can imagine my great relief to find this website and Dr. Bednarski's excellent book describing the cryoablation procedure. To know that it is performed with local anesthesia was a breath of fresh air after being told surgery was my best option. After being misunderstood and ridiculed for my fear by others, Dr. Bednarski listened so very compassionately to my need.

Dr. Bednarski's team was very helpful. Her office thought of every detail needed pre-op and post-op. No one is just a number in her practice. These folks are exceptional in every way!

The only pain I experienced was the sting of the numbing medication - this procedure is virtually painless. I had minor discomfort for two days post-op, by day three I am back to normal. I traveled 8 hours the day after my procedure with no issues. I do have some restrictions for a few weeks, but nothing to hinder my normal life habits.

The low percentage of possibility of recurrence is also amazing with cryoablation. Another wonderful blessing from this entire experience.

You can imagine how thankful I am to Dr. Bednarski for her expertise and wisdom in making this her specialty. I also thank God for leading me to her information. I am grateful for God's compassion towards me and for hers. He understood my serious need and provided just the right remedy in Dr. Bednarski's help.

Dr. Bednarski is an angel on Earth...

I discovered Serenity Surgery & Wellness and Dr Bednarski through a Google search after my oncologist suggested that I might be a candidate for cryoablation. I inquired online in March of 2023 and received a telephone call from Dr Bednarski the following day. We had a wonderful conversation and I was immediately impressed. A few days later I received her book “Freezing Breast Cancer” in the mail, which included a thoughtful, personalized message. After reading the book, I knew that cryoablation was the treatment I wanted to pursue. After a couple of televisits (I live in Tennessee) and a few phone calls, my procedure was scheduled for May of 2023. I was so excited about my decision and never once did I feel anxious or afraid.

On the day of my procedure my husband and I were welcomed by Dr Bednarski and her staff, and we all enjoyed lunch together before the procedure. During the cryoablation, Dr Bednarski and her assistant Amy were so kind and gentle and thoroughly explained everything that was happening. Afterwards, Dr Bednarski made sure I understood how to care for my incision site and answered all of my questions before l left the office. She shared her cell phone number with me in case I had concerns, and she encouraged me to contact her regardless of the time. My husband and I were able to go have dinner that evening, and I only experienced some mild pain that was helped by Tylenol. I had a follow up appointment the next morning and we said our goodbyes. She reminded me to call her if anything came up or if I had any concerns.

After leaving her office, my husband and I were able to explore Brookhaven Gardens for several hours, which I considered a blessing! I only had one dose of Tylenol the day after my procedure. Dr Bednarski is an angel on Earth and I would highly recommend her to anyone with breast cancer. Her office staff are amazing as well. Give her a call. Make the trip. You won’t be disappointed!

Lindsey  B.

Dr. B. answered all of my questions with the utmost patience.

From the first phone conversation with Dr. Bednarski, I could sense her genuine interest in me and my situation. I was in crisis mode and she was a calm and reassuring force. Impressively, Dr. Bednarski always took the time to communicate with me directly herself whether through Zoom calls or the portal. Through the process of qualifying, Dr. B took care of every detail for me and answered all of my questions with the utmost patience. Gratefully, she recommended a specific test which was crucial in helping to determine that radiation would not change my ten year outcome!!! So incredibly relieved to get radiation off the table for me! Noticing my family cancer history, she also recommended genetic testing.

She is so much more than a surgeon but truly a comprehensive breast care provider. The cryoablation procedure itself was quite simple and Dr. and her assistant Amy made me extremely comfortable. The office space and the staff were warm and inviting. Overall, top notch practice that really cares about patient experience! So incredibly grateful to have found Serenity Surgery.

Dr. Bednarski has been there for me...

My first experience with breast cancer was 13 years ago and since then I've learned a lot about breast cancer. I vowed that if I ever had to deal with cancer again I would do things differently. This second time around I took things at my own pace and arranged for imaging and testing. I had some very difficult and unpleasant experiences with traditional medical professionals and when I first contacted Dr Bednarski I was optimistically hopeful as she seemed willing to listen to me, work with me, and to be flexible. I also spoke with several other doctors who perform cryoablation and decided to go with Dr Bednarski as she seemed most confident in her ability to treat me and because she was so accessible and willing to talk.

Dr Bednarski and Amy worked with me to arrange a time for cryoablation very quickly and I am so grateful for that. At every step of the way I've felt that Dr Bednarski has been there for me and that's saying a lot considering the state of medical care these days! Just as important as having the cryoablation performed in a timely manner is the peace of mind I have knowing that Dr Bednarski will be part of my team of providers going forward - I intend to return to her for interpretation of any further tests, imaging, biopsies, etc that I have. For the first time I have a traditionally trained breast doctor that I actually enjoy working with!

As for the cryoablation procedure itself, Dr Bednarski is extremely skilled and did an excellent job. It's clear that she's done this many times before and is extremely competent. I appreciated having the opportunity to watch the procedure on ultrasound as it was being performed.

I feel that with cryoablation my cancer was treated more thoroughly than with the prior lumpectomy: a larger area of the breast was treated and there is also a possibility of an immunological benefit with cryoablation which is exciting.

I unreservedly recommend Dr Bednarski to anyone needing breast care.

Trish M.

Treated like family!

Treated like family!

I found Dr. Bednarski when I had suspicious nodes and a spot in my breast pop up on a PET/CT scan about a year after my initial cyroablation (with a different provider. ) Dr. Bednarski was extremely thorough going through all my imaging from my original diagnosis to the possible recurrence. We met several times via telehealth and we talked through all my options. I chose to travel to Dr. Bednarski for my core biopsies since I wanted a provider who was comfortable reading images that had previous cyroablation especially since the new spot was by my cyroablated area. I had already had one radiologist tell me that the previous cryoablated spot looked like cancer to him. So it was very important to me to work with a surgeon who knew how to read the images and give me a wide range of options on how to approach treatment with her.

Dr. Bednarski and her staff could not have been more welcoming to me. You really feel like part of their family. Dr. Bednarski is very skilled, confident and open minded and you feel she is really invested in your healing.

I highly recommend Dr. Bednarski, I feel so lucky to have found and her and have her be part of my team.

Melanie S.

So very grateful I found Dr. Bednarski...

So very grateful I found Dr. Bednarski after reaching out to several other doctors that perform breast cryoablation. She is extremely professional and very caring. I've been on an alternative healing journey and she has been respectful of that, which I find to be the exception in mainstream medicine. Dr. Bednarski is a very knowledgeable breast surgeon and I have every confidence in her careHer book on cryoablation is a must read if you are considering this procedure. The majority of doctors doing cryoablation only take patients that fit a strict list of criteria. If you fall outside of that, they will not take you as a new patient. This makes Dr. Bednarski an even rarer find. WITHOUT ANY HESITATION, based on my first hand experience with her, I recommend Dr. Bednarski for breast cryoablation. Thank you Dr. Bednarski!

Janet L.

Meeting Dr. Bednarski changed my life!

I could never fully explain the wonderful experience I had with Dr. Bednarski but, I will try. From the minute I received my first return phone call I knew this doctor would be something special because she, herself made the call. She is kind and compassionate and gave me all the time i needed during that first call. At the follow up call Dr. B also found the imaging center where I had my ultrasound. She sent me her book which was a wealth of information. She was able to answer any additional questions, but the book explained so much that I had very few.

Scheduling my procedure was also quite easy. The personal experience when my husband and I finally met Dr. B was one of a kind. We shared lunch and I felt like we had become friends. The procedure was easy and painless. Dr. B checked in with me at every step. I never felt frightened or nervous. I had barely any pain that evening or in the days following. I have been continuing to meet with Dr. B remotely on a monthly basis. It couldn’t be easier and, as always, she is patient and kind. Meeting Dr. Bednarski changed my life!

Life-changing experience!

I was guided to contact Dr. Hania for my cryoablation surgery; it was the best choice I ever made during my healthcare journey! I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in October 2022 and decided that I wanted to go with a more natural approach to my therapy. A friend suggested looking into cryoablation, which was my best choice.

Dr. Hania Bednarski is knowledgeable, kind, caring, and listens to you! I felt very supported by the staff at the office and had no fears or reservations about the procedure. Everyone was very open about what would happen as it did, which made the process feel seamless. In my journey to recovery, I did not have any other doctor listen to me and be available to answer my questions.

Dr. B and her team are amazing...

From the first meeting with Dr. B I knew the Lord had lead me right where I needed to be. I only wish I had found her sooner when tumor was smaller. Dr. B and her team are amazing. They include you as family. They were so Accommodating to keep me comfortable and at peace during the procedure in a spa like environment.

I just had my final procedure 2 weeks ago and I feel good. Follow up and availability for any questions or concerns have been timely and she gives you her personal attention.

Grateful for Dr. B and her expertise.

Edie P.

She’s a blessing from the Lord!

Getting diagnosed while pregnant was extremely difficult. I was pushed into the usual chemotherapy right away, however after one dose I went into preterm labor. I knew then that there had to be different methods in attacking cancer besides standard of care when it came to my body specifically. I did research and came across cryoablation. After speaking to multiple doctors, I felt the most confident and comfortable with Dr. Bednarski. From the beginning she was not just professional but also honest and understanding.

When setting up my procedure appointment, she moved things around on her end to get me in. During the procedure, she was very kind and caring. While it was painful at times, she made sure to be detailed and got the job done perfectly. My husband, who is a physician as well, was very impressed by her and her book. Post procedure, she wanted to take us out to dinner but I was unable to. However, she had me come in twice before we left for home to make sure my body was healing well. I appreciated this because she wanted to be satisfied with her job. During all our video consults post procedure, she has continued to show her undivided care for me. I truly am so grateful I chose Dr. B for my procedure. She’s a blessing from the Lord!

All surgeries should be that easy!

Even though my diagnosis was DCIS, level 0, I was informed by my breast surgeon that I must have a mastectomy. She explained that I have three sites with calcification and doing three lumpectomies would totally mangle my breast. Thus mastectomy is the best choice.

That's when I started searching for an alternative method that would save me much physical and emotional pain. After an extensive web search, I connected with Dr. Bednarski, who offered a free online consultation. Her warm and caring personality was evident even at that first meeting. I was eager for her to tell me that I was eligible for cryoablation and that she would perform it. She explained that she can definitely remove two of the calcification spots with cryoablation, but one spot is too close to the surface of skin to be removed by freezing. When I suggested a lumpectomy on that one spot, she agreed. She also informed me that she sees an additional spot in my breast that nobody else mentioned, probably because it was so close to the rib-cage. At the time she wasn't completely sure about that spot but said that should it require to be cryoablated, it would not incur any additional expense. I happily made an appointment to finally have my cancer removed by her, while saving the integrity of my breast.

My husband and I flew from NY for the procedure, and stayed at a hotel recommended by the doctor due to its proximity to her office. The following day, in late morning we drove to Dr. Bednarski's office, where we were invited to have lunch with her entire staff. It was a great opportunity to get to know everyone and even learn more about Myrtle Beach. By the way, lunch was delicious! Once lunch was over we stepped into the consultation room where the procedures were performed. I had to remove my top clothes and was given an adorable, pink surgical shirt that opens in front. The doctor placed my arm in just the right position while I was lying on the surgery chair, then made certain I felt as comfortable as possible by placing pillows under my arm. We all agreed that spa music is most appropriate for the occasion, and listened to it for the next four hours. During that time I had three cryoablations and one lumpectomy, all with local anesthesia. I felt comfortable and part of the team, as we were conversing throughout the procedures. All surgeries should be that easy!

Eugene L.

The entire experience was amazing.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I went through all the steps of the standard practice of care. After the mammogram/ultrasound/biopsies, I saw an oncologist and a surgeon who were both recommending lumpectomy and possible radiation. For me, someone who believes in natural/holistic healing, this didn't feel right to me. I continued to read, research and finally was led to the option of cryoablation. I knew this was my solution. I just had to find the right doctor. My search took me to Dr Bednarski at Serenity Surgery. From the very first phone call I felt her kindness and compassion for me and my situation. She mailed me her book which showed me that she truly has a heart and understanding for what women are going through with this diagnosis. Every televisit we had I felt heard as she generously and patiently helped with all my concerns and questions.

After getting Dr Bednarski all the info she needed, I was fortunately a candidate for the cryoablation. My procedure was scheduled and two weeks later I was in the car, a four-hour drive to SC. The day of my procedure I was met with open arms, literally, as I entered her office. My husband and I immediately felt the warmth of her office and her team. Great care was taken to ensure that we were both comfortable. The procedure was done in a relaxed, safe environment with soothing music and nice cushy pillows. Dr Bednarski’s assistant, Amy, was efficient and calming. As Dr B went through the procedure, she explained every step and continually questioned how I was doing and if I was comfortable. The entire experience was amazing. Even the not-so-comfortable part wasn’t bad. I am so grateful that I was able to have my breast cancer treatment in a small cozy office setting where I felt valued and genuinely cared for.
